Kim Mu Yeol is enjoying a huge career moment thanks to the global success of Netflix’s “Teach You a Lesson”.

On June 12, Kim Mu Yeol talked about the series during an interview in Seoul. When asked about “Teach You a Lesson” ranking No. 1 globally, he said, “I am happy and so thankful. It does not feel real, to the point where I wonder if I will ever experience a moment like this again in my life.”

The actor added that he is taking the love seriously, saying, “I have been thinking that I should take this much love seriously and sincerely.”

Kim Mu Yeol is receiving praise for his role in the series, with many viewers calling it his “life character.” He shared, “I thought about why people love it this much. I think I really loved this project a lot. Also, it is because all the actors who appeared across the 10 episodes did so well.”

He also humbly credited the full cast, saying, “The ensemble was really good. I think that is why people like it a lot.”

However, Kim Mu Yeol also admitted the praise with confidence. He said, “I saw all the comments saying it is my ‘life character’ and that ‘it was possible because it was Kim Mu Yeol,’ and since I did it, I admit it.”

The actor also accepted comments calling this his “second prime.” He shared that Lee Sung Min gave him simple advice during a phone call, saying, “Enjoy it.” Kim Mu Yeol said he is now trying to enjoy the moment as much as possible.

At the same time, he opened up about a personal loss. He shared, “My dog, who lived with me for 17 years, passed away not long ago. That pain is also there.” He added that he is allowing himself to feel both sadness and joy.

Kim Mu Yeol also said the success belongs to the whole team, not just him. He explained, “This project was not made by me alone. Many people made it together. Everyone is being rewarded.”

He added, “There were difficulties, and everyone did their best. I am thankful and happy because it feels like people recognize that sincerity.”

“Teach You a Lesson” has been receiving major global attention. The series ranked No. 1 on Netflix’s Non English TV Shows chart just three days after its release and reportedly reached No. 1 in 44 countries.

Kim Mu Yeol has also gained attention overseas after John Cena, who many fans say looks like him, posted his photo on social media. The moment quickly became a hot topic among international viewers.

When asked about a possible season 2, Kim Mu Yeol said, “Nothing has been decided yet.” Still, he made fans laugh by adding, “I wrote in the group chat, ‘Let’s go for season 2’, but I accidentally added a zero and wrote season 20”.
