Lee Jae Wook is continuing to draw attention even while serving in the military, as his new drama “Doctor on the Edge” is already showing strong results.

ENA’s Monday Tuesday drama “Doctor on the Edge” passed 5% in ratings after only 2 episodes. According to Nielsen Korea, episode 2 recorded 5.0% nationwide, 5.1% in the Seoul metropolitan area, and a peak rating of 5.6% per minute. The drama also kept its No. 1 spot among all channels in the same time slot.

In episode 2, Do Ji Ui, played by Lee Jae Wook, and Yook Ha Ri, played by Shin Ye Eun, met again as a public health doctor and nurse. The two started with clear boundaries between them, but slowly grew closer as they treated patients and began noticing each other’s emotional wounds.

Yook Ha Ri tried to help Do Ji Ui, who seemed anxious, but he pushed her away and said, “I never asked you to help me. So go your own way and do not cross the line.” Despite this, the two kept crossing paths at the island health branch and during home visits.

The episode also showed Do Ji Ui facing conflict with local residents while trying to follow medical rules. During one emergency, he treated Lee Jang Soo with care even after their earlier disagreement. When asked if he did not dislike him, Do Ji Ui calmly replied, “Disliking him is one thing. A cut is still a cut,” showing his sense of duty as a doctor.

Yook Ha Ri also showed warmth toward Do Ji Ui, telling him, “I am not crossing the line. I am saying this as a nurse.” She added that just as he wanted to treat her injury because he is a doctor, she also wanted to help him because she is a nurse.

The episode ended with new tension when Park Choon Sik, who had seemed like an ally, suddenly threw fish sauce at Do Ji Ui and shouted, “You fraud.” The unexpected moment raised curiosity about what will happen next.

Doctor on the Edge” is based on the KakaoPage webtoon “Jonber Doctor.” It airs every Monday and Tuesday at 10 PM on ENA and is also available on KT Genie TV and Disney Plus.

Lee Jae Wook enlisted as an active duty soldier on May 18 and is currently completing his military service.
