A warm story about BTS member V from his time as a trainee soldier is gaining attention.
V recently talked about his military service during a Weverse live broadcast with the BTS members. During the broadcast, he recalled a funny moment from religious activity time when he attended Catholic mass with other trainee soldiers.
V shared that when he asked one trainee about his baptismal name, the trainee answered, “I like Mordekaiser, Miss Fortune, and Lux,” naming game characters instead. The story made fans laugh.

After watching the broadcast, one of V’s former fellow trainees shared more memories from their time together. He said he had been assigned to the same 1st platoon as V when the news of 2 BTS members enlisting was a big topic.
According to him, V once gifted Korean beef to the trainee soldiers to thank them for their hard work.
The former trainee also remembered watching a Christmas church musical with V. After the performance, V was quietly leaving with his head down, but when people asked him to greet them, he waved at the end, making everyone cheer.

He also spoke warmly about V volunteering to serve as platoon leader. He described V as “a really kind and positive person who always led things in a good direction,” adding that he was playful, affectionate, and generous.
V enlisted on December 11, 2023, and later served in the Special Duty Team of the Military Police Corps under the Army’s 2nd Corps. During his service, he was also said to have treated his seniors and juniors to meals and donated exercise equipment.
Fellow soldiers reportedly described V as someone they could “comfortably share worries with and rely on.” Even after his discharge, V showed loyalty by visiting the unit about 40 days later to congratulate his direct junior soldier on being discharged.
