Kang Mina has personally responded to rumors claiming there is conflict among the I.O.I members.
The actress and I.O.I member recently addressed the issue through a fan communication message after some people questioned why she and Zhou Jieqiong were not taking part in the group’s 10th anniversary activities.
Kang Mina made it clear that there is no problem between the members. She said, “Even today, the members and I are saying we miss each other and congratulating each other almost once a day through KakaoTalk, but people are talking about conflict rumors and things like that. Why do people live so tiringly?”
I.O.I recently returned with their third mini album “I.O.I : LOOP” to celebrate their 10th debut anniversary. However, Kang Mina and Zhou Jieqiong did not join the promotions because of their individual schedules.
As a result, Jeon Somi, Kim Sejeong, Choi Yoojung, Kim Chungha, Kim Sohye, Jung Chaeyeon, Kim Doyeon, Im Nayoung, and Yoo Yeonjung continued the activities as participating members.
Because Kang Mina and Zhou Jieqiong were absent, some online users started speculating about possible tension within the group. Kang Mina quickly denied the rumors and showed support for the members instead.
She added, “Instead of doing that, you should congratulate the girls more for getting first place.”
Her message appears to be a direct response to the unnecessary rumors, while also asking people to celebrate I.O.I’s achievement rather than create negative speculation.
