Heo Nam Jun is drawing attention for his polished suit styling in the SBS Friday Saturday drama “My Royal Nemesis”.
On May 28, the drama released behind the scenes photos of the actor wearing different suits, further highlighting his sharp visuals and strong presence as Cha Se Gye.
“My Royal Nemesis” is a romantic comedy about Shin Seo Ri, an unknown actress possessed by the spirit of a famous wicked woman from the Joseon era, and Cha Se Gye, a difficult chaebol who views marriage like a business deal.
The drama has been gaining strong attention both in Korea and overseas. It has continued to break its own highest viewership rating, ranked No. 1 on Netflix Korea’s “Today’s Top 10 Series”, and entered the Top 10 in 57 countries.
In the drama, Heo Nam Jun plays Cha Se Gye with a cold and powerful image. To match the character, he wears various custom suits, including classic single suits, formal three piece suits, and double breasted styles.

At the beginning of the story, Cha Se Gye’s image was shown through darker suit colors such as black, navy, and deep burgundy. As his feelings for Shin Seo Ri slowly change, his styling also becomes softer and more romantic, adding another fun detail to the drama.
His stylist Shim Yoon Jung explained the styling process, saying, “To naturally show the character Cha Se Gye, who wears notoriety like armor, I actively shared opinions with the director and actor while deciding the styling direction.”
She added, “Because of Cha Se Gye’s personality, I thought he would stick to styling that fits him perfectly, so we matched not only the suits but also the shirts and ties by tone.”
Shim Yoon Jung also shared that the early episodes used formal looks with peaked lapels and ties to show his cold personality. As the romance develops, the styling changes with notched lapels, no tie, and brighter shirts to reflect Cha Se Gye’s inner change because of Shin Seo Ri.
She also talked about the “battle suit fitting scene” in episode 5, saying, “I thought the outfit was important for this scene.” She explained that the team used a sharp three piece suit and tie pin to make the all black suit feel different from his previous looks.
With his strong acting, perfect suit fit, and unexpected charm, Heo Nam Jun is gaining praise as one of the rising romantic comedy leads to watch.
“My Royal Nemesis” airs every Friday and Saturday at 9:50 PM.
