Rain shared his honest thoughts on parenting and his different education style from his wife, Kim Tae Hee.
On the May 20 broadcast of tvN’s “You Quiz on the Block,” Rain appeared as a guest and opened up about his childhood, his two daughters, and what kind of father he wants to be.
Rain recalled that he often felt alone when he was young. He said, “When I was young, I think I even went to amusement parks alone.” He added that even on Children’s Day, he saved money and went by himself, saying, “I do not remember anyone being beside me.”

Because of that experience, Rain said he tries hard to make sure his own children do not feel the same way. He shared, “My standard of happiness has changed to making my children happy.” He also said that when his daughters come home, he hugs them and asks, “Was there anyone who upset you?”
Rain then revealed that he and Kim Tae Hee have different views when it comes to studying. He said, “I often tell them not to study, while my wife makes them study in a planned way.” When asked why he does not push studying, Rain simply explained, “I like seeing the children play more.”
The singer and actor also said he does not want his children to live only by chasing success. Rain shared, “I hope my children do not live too intensely,” explaining that success can bring stress when someone only focuses on doing better than others.

He added, “If you only chase success, you can fall apart over small things. I hope they live while fully pursuing their own happiness.”
Rain also touched viewers with his wish to become a dependable father. He said, “Everyone needs a place to lean on. I want to become a father like a big tree that my children can lean on anytime.”
Rain and Kim Tae Hee married in 2017 and are parents to two daughters.
