Daesung invited I.O.I members as guests on his YouTube show “Zip Daesung”, drawing attention from fans as the group recently reunited after 10 years.
On May 8, the YouTube channel uploaded a video titled “Guys, do you want to make a comeback?” The guests for the episode were Jeon Somi, Choi Yoojung, and Kim Sohye.
During the video, Daesung asked how it felt to gather again after such a long time. Jeon Somi jokingly answered, “Whether we like it or not, we kept staying together, so we grew attached”.
Daesung then made everyone laugh by saying, “When people get together again after a long time, it cannot always be all good. I understand that feeling well.”
Daesung also talked about I.O.I’s place in idol survival show history. He said that I.O.I could be seen as the beginning of trainee survival programs and asked how they felt as seniors, since many similar programs came out afterward.
Jeon Somi answered honestly, “I think we cannot help but say, ‘Back in my day.’ There was no system at all, and it was everyone’s first time doing this, so we had no choice but to have the hardest time.”
Daesung then mentioned I.O.I’s famous song “PICK ME” and said, “Is there anyone in Korea who has not heard ‘PICK ME’?” Jeon Somi smiled and replied, “Humbly, that is true.”
Choi Yoojung also looked back on the huge filming set from that time. She said, “Even when I saw it, I was so shocked,” and added that they filmed so much that she almost could not remember everything clearly. Jeon Somi added, “From that time, I lost my sense of time”.
