Park Ji Hoon opened up about his extreme weight loss for his film role.

On April 30, Park Ji Hoon appeared as a guest on the final episode of Hong Eun Chae’s web variety show Eunchae’s Style Diary Returns, released on KBS Kpop’s YouTube channel.

During the episode, Hong Eun Chae asked him about his diet, saying, “Did you really only eat apples? Is that possible to survive?”

Park Ji Hoon previously drew attention after revealing that he lost 15 kg in two months while preparing for the film The Man Who Lives with the King.

He shared that he had studied different diet methods because he needed to lose as much weight as possible in about two and a half months.

He also said he looked into Wegovy but decided not to use it. Park Ji Hoon explained, “I also studied things like Wegovy, but it was too scary.”

He added that he had only received IV fluids before and had never injected himself, saying, “I heard that Wegovy has to be injected by yourself.”

Instead, Park Ji Hoon chose to reduce his food intake in an extreme way. He admitted, “I thought I should lose weight by not eating, in an unhealthy way.”

He also recalled staying in his room for two months while reading the script and studying Danjong, saying, “I endured it while only eating apples.”

The Man Who Lives with the King went on to surpass 16.73 million moviegoers, becoming the second highest grossing Korean film of all time.
