Actress Kim Go Eun is returning with ‘Yumi’s Cells 3’, once again bringing back the excitement of romance, this time alongside rising actor Kim Jae Won.

The new season is already gaining attention for its older woman younger man dynamic and love hate relationship chemistry.

During the production press conference held on April 7 in Seoul, Kim Go Eun shared her thoughts on returning to the role after several years.

She said she reviewed the previous seasons, adding, “Since it has been a while, I rewatched seasons 1 and 2,” and praised her co star by saying, “I think our chemistry was perfect.”

The actress also expressed her honest reaction after watching the highlight clips for the first time, saying, “Even though I was the one acting, I found myself smiling while watching it.”

When asked about their real life 10 year age gap, Kim Go Eun joked, “I went to the dermatologist often,” making everyone laugh.

She then explained that the difference was not noticeable, saying, “Jae Won is very mature for his age, so it did not feel like there was a big gap.”

She also pointed out a key highlight of the drama, teasing, “Among the cells, Soon Rok’s naughty cell is drawn very big even in the poster, so you can look forward to it.”

Kim Jae Won agreed and added, “Soon Rok’s naughty cell is really huge. You can look forward to the charm of a younger man.”

Kim Jae Won also shared his thoughts on working with Kim Go Eun after previously appearing in the same project but not interacting directly. He said, “Back then, I did not get the chance to meet her, so I was happy to finally work together.”

He praised her by saying, “She felt like a kind older sister who even buys meals, but once filming starts, her eyes completely change. She is very professional.”

Talking about his role, he admitted feeling pressure, saying, “It would be a lie to say I did not feel burdened, since Soon Rok is loved by many fans of the original.” He added, “As a rookie, this is my first big role, and I learned a lot while being guided by her.”

The director also explained the casting choice, saying Kim Jae Won closely matched the original character, especially his visuals and natural personality.

He added that while there will be some differences from the original story, the series will continue to focus on relatable moments for young adults.

‘Yumi’s Cells 3’ is set to premiere on April 13, releasing two episodes weekly on TVING, and will also air on tvN every Monday and Tuesday evening.
