Singer and actor Lee Seung Gi has reportedly taken steps to terminate his exclusive contract with BPM Entertainment, drawing attention to ongoing concerns within the agency.
According to his legal representative, Lee Seung Gi formally notified the company of contract termination in late March, citing a violation of contract terms. His side stated that the agreement “has been lawfully terminated,” making clear their position on the matter.
The decision was reportedly influenced by issues related to unpaid staff expenses. His representatives explained that despite efforts to maintain trust amid “various issues surrounding the agency and some unpaid settlement amounts”, problems arose in supporting entertainment activities and covering costs for staff and external partners.
They added that the termination was unavoidable “to prevent a situation where staff working on site would not be paid”, emphasizing responsibility toward those involved in his projects.
Despite the situation, Lee Seung Gi is expected to continue his scheduled activities as planned. He also expressed his intention to “carry out activities with a sense of responsibility so as not to disappoint fans and on-site staff”.
Meanwhile, BPM Entertainment, a label under One Hundred, has recently faced reports of multiple artists notifying contract terminations.
The agency responded that such matters are “being discussed and adjusted according to each artist’s contract conditions”, while denying some of the allegations.
However, the series of reported departures has raised ongoing concerns about overall trust within the label.
