The competition for TV drama buzz is heating up fast, and the latest rankings show a major shake up among the most talked about shows.
According to Good Data Corporation’s FUNdex, tvN’s weekend drama Undercover Miss Hong ranked No. 1 in TV drama buzz for the fourth week of January (January 19 to January 25), overtaking strong competitors.
SBS’s Friday Saturday drama No Tail To Tell followed closely in second place, while MBC’s The Judge Returns came in third. KBS 2TV’s weekend mini series To My Beloved Thief ranked fourth, and tvN’s Monday Tuesday drama Spring Fever rounded out the top five.
These results mark a noticeable change from the previous week, when No Tail To Tell ranked first and Undercover Miss Hong placed third. The sharp rise of Undercover Miss Hong stands out as the biggest shift in buzz.
What caught even more attention was the clear gap between buzz rankings and TV ratings. While The Judge Returns dominated weekend mini series ratings, posting over 10 percent for two consecutive weeks with 11.4 percent for episode 7 and 10.8 percent for episode 8, it placed only third in buzz.
Meanwhile, Undercover Miss Hong showed strong balance by passing the 7 percent ratings mark in its second broadcast week, while To My Beloved Thief also stayed within the 7 percent range, proving steady viewer interest.
On the other hand, No Tail To Tell recorded lower ratings in the 3 percent range, yet still ranked higher than expected in buzz, showing strong online and viewer discussion.
Among the standouts, To My Beloved Thief continues to hold its ground by remaining in the top five even in its fourth week, showing consistent buzz despite small rating fluctuations.
Ultimately, Undercover Miss Hong surged past all competitors to claim the No. 1 buzz spot, while also strengthening its position as a rising weekend drama.
Starring Park Shin Hye, the drama’s strong buzz performance has fueled talk of her successful return to TV, with growing expectations for further ratings growth.
As buzz and ratings continue to move in different directions, the competition among these dramas remains fierce. Viewers are now watching closely to see which show can dominate both buzz and ratings in the weeks ahead.
