ENHYPEN member Sung Hoon is set to take on a meaningful global role as he has been selected as a torchbearer for the 2026 Milan Cortina Winter Olympics.

On January 24, his agency Belift Lab officially announced that Sung Hoon will participate in the Olympic torch relay, which begins on February 6 next month (local time). His selection came through a recommendation from Samsung Electronics, an official sponsor of the upcoming Winter Olympics.

Sung Hoon’s participation is especially meaningful due to his deep connection to winter sports. Before debuting as an idol, he was active as a figure skater and was part of the national reserve team.

Since last year, he has also served as a promotional ambassador for the Korean Sport and Olympic Committee, helping bridge sports and the public.

With his background as an athlete and his influence as an artist, Sung Hoon is expected to deliver a message of peace and unity through the torch relay.

Notably, Sung Hoon becomes only the second K pop artist in history to take part in an Olympic torch relay held overseas, highlighting his growing global presence.

Sharing his thoughts through his agency, he said he deeply understands the effort and passion of national athletes preparing for the Winter Olympics and feels strong support for them.

He also shared that competing in the Olympics was once his personal dream as an athlete, adding that he now feels “happy and honored” to experience that dream in a new way as a singer.

Meanwhile, ENHYPEN continues to show strong global influence. The group has gained attention for their powerful performances and album storytelling, and their latest mini album THE SIN : VANISH recorded 2.07 million copies sold in its first week, marking their fourth double million seller and further proving their solid position in the global K pop scene.
