Actor Nam Da Reum’s mother explains why she manages his social media and why changing “MOM” in the username is not easy

Nam Da Reum’s mother recently spoke out regarding discussions and posts about her managing the actor’s social media account.

On November 30, she shared a long post on her own account, saying, “It seems this account has caused more talks again. There are comments and DMs that are hard to read.”

She explained that the account started around 10 years ago as a personal space for herself, where she posted daily photos and messages to chat with friends.

Over time, however, Nam Da Reum’s fans began visiting the account, and as followers grew, it became harder for her to share personal updates freely.

After some fake accounts pretending to be Nam Da Reum appeared, she changed the username to “Nam Da Reum Mom” and began using it to share updates and activity records about him.

She explained, “Some fans who see ‘mom’ in the username think I manage his account for him, which sometimes causes misunderstandings and complaints.”

She also expressed her wish to remove “mom” from the username but said it has been difficult due to the large number of followers. She added, “I don’t want to block social media or force him to make an account; it’s best if he starts when he wants.”

Although Nam Da Reum does not actively use social media, he communicates with fans through the fan cafe “Da Reum Holic”. She said, “If I could change the username, I would remove the word ‘mom’”.

Online posts recently highlighted that his mother still manages his official SNS account even after his military service, sparking mixed reactions from fans.

Some are grateful for the updates, while others note that Nam Da Reum still has a child actor image despite being an adult.
