Actor Kim Woo Bin impressed fans and locals alike after showing off his unexpected Spanish skills and earning the title of “King of Negotiation” during his trip to Mexico.
In the October 24 episode of tvN’s variety show “Kong Kong Pang Pang,” Kim Woo Bin joined Lee Kwang Soo and Do Kyung Soo (D.O.) for a fun day exploring Ciudadela Market.
The trio soaked up the local culture by trying on sombreros and checking out colorful shops selling Lucha Libre wrestling masks.
Their playful mood continued when a shop owner recommended T-shirts with wrestling mask prints, which the group decided to buy as matching team shirts. But what really stole the scene was Kim Woo Bin’s smooth bargaining.
Confidently speaking in Spanish, he asked the shop owner for a discount — and succeeded after some friendly negotiation. D.O. clapped in admiration, while Kim Woo Bin laughed and revealed, “The first Spanish phrase I memorized was ‘Please give me a discount.’”
The heartwarming moment didn’t end there. When asked if giving discounts was a loss, the shop owner smiled and said, “That doesn’t always matter. Even if the profit is small, it’s still a gain. What’s important isn’t the deal — it’s that they get to know our culture.”
