Actress Son Ye Jin got candid about her 26-year career, her struggles, and her growth as an actress during the Actor’s House talk at the 30th Busan International Film Festival.

Reflecting on her journey, Son Ye Jin shared, “Honestly, my 20s are only left in my works. I couldn’t really enjoy my youth. Acting was painful, and I didn’t enjoy it, but my desire to do well kept me going.”

She also admitted to feeling anxious after marriage and becoming a mother, saying, “I wondered if I could still do romance, if people would still want me. But when I look at senior actresses like Youn Yuh Jung, Kim Hee Ae, Jeon Do Yeon, Kim Hye Soo, I realized there’s a path for me too.”

Talking about working on her new film It Can’t Be Helped, she expressed relief and happiness: “Before, I always felt heavy responsibility, but this time I could enjoy it more because director Park Chan Wook and senior Lee Byung Hun were there.”

Despite her struggles, Son Ye Jin remains grateful, adding, “If there’s something you want to do, you should try it with everything you have. Then there will be a moment when it shines.”
