Actor Yoo Ah In, who was previously convicted on drug charges, has been spotted for the first time in a while — at a party with a big smile on his face.
On September 3, world-famous DJ Peggy Gou shared a photo featuring herself, director Bong Joon Ho, and Yoo Ah In. The photo was later deleted, but it had already been captured and spread across social media.
In the picture, Yoo Ah In could be seen wearing a hat and smiling while standing next to the director and DJ, immediately drawing public attention.
Yoo Ah In had been indicted for the habitual use of medical propofol under the pretense of anesthesia for cosmetic procedures at clinics in Seoul between September 2020 and March 2022 — a total of 181 times.
He was also accused of illegally obtaining over 1,100 sleeping pills prescribed under another person’s name on 44 different occasions between May 2021 and August 2023. In January 2024, he was additionally charged with smoking marijuana in the United States with an acquaintance, Choi, and allegedly encouraging others to join.
In September 2024, Yoo Ah In was sentenced to one year in prison during his first trial and taken into custody. However, in February, the appeals court reduced the ruling to one year in prison with a two-year suspended sentence, leading to his release. The Supreme Court later upheld the decision.
Now, his recent smiling appearance at a party has once again become a hot topic online.
