Trot singer Kim Yong Bin shared the surprising story of how he nearly became a member of SHINee.
On the first episode of TV CHOSUN’s new variety show My Way - Over-Immersed Club (My Way), set to air on September 3, Kim Yong Bin revealed that he once came close to debuting under SM Entertainment.
He confessed, “Lee Soo Man told me I would fit well in a group called SHINee, so I went (to meet him).” The revelation immediately caught the attention of idols U-Know Yunho and Leeteuk in the studio.
U-Know Yunho agreed, admitting, “He really has the idol look,” acknowledging that Kim Yong Bin carried the signature “SM style” visuals.
Although he ultimately did not debut as part of SHINee, Kim Yong Bin has since gone on to make his name in trot, recently winning first place (Jin) on Mister Trot 3.
