Former S.E.S. member Shoo (Yoo Soo Young) has drawn attention and controversy for a surprising remark made to her husband, Im Hyo Sung.
On August 15, Shoo uploaded a new video on her YouTube channel titled “Shoo is back (Why am I returning after 8 years?).”
In the video, Shoo sat next to her husband and confessed,

“The word ‘married couple’ feels heavy. Do you really think of us as a married couple?”
Im Hyo Sung replied,
“We’ve been married for four years. We’re practically strangers.”

Shoo explained that because they had been friends for 11 years before marriage, she always thought of him more like a friend, which is why they rarely fight. Im Hyo Sung added,
“That’s true. I always try not to fight, even when Shoo keeps starting something.”
However, what stirred controversy was a later moment when Shoo suddenly asked her husband,
“Don’t you have a girlfriend these days?”
A shocked Im Hyo Sung responded,
“You must be crazy. Are you a psycho?”
Shoo laughed it off, replying,
“Why not? Can’t I ask that? Isn’t it nice to be American style?”
Following backlash, the controversial scene has since been edited out of the video.
Meanwhile, Shoo previously faced legal issues after being sentenced in February 2019 to 6 months in prison (suspended for 2 years) and 80 hours of community service for repeated overseas gambling between 2016 and 2018, involving amounts in the billions of won.
Recently, she revealed that her husband, Im Hyo Sung, had paid off her gambling debt of 280 million won, which also drew public attention.
