Girls' Generation member YoonA shared the surprising story of how she ended up becoming a trainee at SM Entertainment—and it all started by chance!
On August 4, YoonA appeared on the YouTube show Jjanhan Hyung Shin Dong Yup alongside her Pretty Crazy co-star Ahn Bo Hyun.
During the show, YoonA opened up about her audition experience and how she entered the entertainment world.
“There was a public audition where people would line up early outside the company,” she said. “You’d go in one by one, sing, dance, say hello, and then leave.”
YoonA revealed that she didn't even plan to audition at first. “When you bought an SM artist's album, there was a flyer inside about a Saturday audition."
She added, "A classmate asked, ‘Who wants to go?’ and I just followed her—and I passed on the first try,” she shared with a calm smile.
She then explained that SM didn’t contact her right away. “A few months later, they called me. They said the confirmation was delayed because there was a big event happening. After that, I did a camera test and officially became a trainee.”
