The Boyz's Hyunjae has unfortunately injured his ankle just one day before their highly anticipated comeback stage.

On July 31, his agency One Hunnit (IST Entertainment) shared that Hyunjae got hurt while filming live content earlier that day. After a hospital visit and medical exam, it was confirmed that he has a torn ligament in his ankle.

Because of this, Hyunjae will still be performing on KBS2’s ‘Music Bank’ on August 1, but seated on a chair for safety reasons.

One Hunnit released an official statement, saying:

"Today, Hyunjae injured his ankle while filming live content and was immediately taken to the hospital. The results showed that part of his ankle ligament is torn.

Following the doctor’s advice, he will take the stage while sitting on a chair for the August 1 performance on Music Bank.

We apologize to fans who were excited for The Boyz’s comeback. We will focus on Hyunjae’s health and recovery first when planning future activities."

The news has left fans concerned but supportive, praising Hyunjae’s dedication to still appear on stage despite his injury.

Wishing Hyunjae a fast and full recovery.
