Lee Bo Young opened up about her chemistry with co-star Lee Min Ki, saying they bonded the old-fashioned way—by getting scolded on set!
On the July 31 broadcast of Today Morning with Yoon Sang on MBC FM4U, Lee Bo Young and Lee Min Ki appeared as guests to promote their upcoming Friday-Saturday drama, Mary Kills People.
Talking about their teamwork, Lee Bo Young shared, “I think our personalities are really similar. We’re not the type to actively keep in touch or try hard to get close. That actually made things more comfortable.”
Lee Min Ki playfully teased her, saying, “For someone like that, you actually talk a lot”, making everyone in the studio laugh.
Lee Bo Young then shared a deeper look at what makes working with Lee Min Ki feel special, “When I think about him, I naturally compare him to the newer actors I’ve seen lately."
She added, "I usually split actors into two groups—‘old-school’ and ‘new-generation.’ Old-school actors are those who started before 2018. I was part of that system too.”
She explained what being “old-school” means to her, “Back then, we all shared waiting rooms, practiced together, got scolded, and learned from seniors. It created strong bonds between us."
She added, "Nowadays, people tend to keep more social distance. Honestly, I feel more relaxed working with fellow old-school actors.”
Lee Min Ki then added with a laugh, “On the first day, noona told me, ‘I heard you were younger, so I thought you were a rookie. But since you’re old-school like me, I feel so comfortable now.’”
Fans are already loving their natural chemistry—both on and off screen—proving that old-school actors still have that timeless charm!
