Former SISTAR member Soyou has opened up about her raw emotions following the group’s unexpected disbandment — and fans are feeling the heartbreak all over again.
In a new video released on July 20 via Umaizing Uhm Jung Hwa TV on YouTube, Soyou sat down for an honest talk and revealed how things have changed since the group went their separate ways.
When asked if she still keeps in touch with her fellow SISTAR members, she shared, “Until last year, we met up quite often, but this year… I’ve only seen Bora unnie.”
The mood turned emotional as Soyou reflected on how deeply the disbandment affected her. “It felt like if SISTAR disappeared, I would disappear too,” she said.

“When my company brought up my contract, I told them I’d rather retire if SISTAR disbanded. That’s how much the group meant to me.”
She added, “SISTAR was my whole youth. My entire 20s were about SISTAR. Without it, I wouldn’t be who I am today.”
SISTAR, made up of Hyo Rin, Bora, Soyou, and Da Som, debuted in 2010 and quickly became one of K-pop’s hottest girl groups — best known for their string of summer hits like So Cool, Touch My Body, Give It To Me, and Shake It.

They were crowned “Summer Queens” for a reason, lighting up every season with their powerful vocals and confident performances.
But in May 2017, after 7 successful years together, the group shocked fans by announcing their official disbandment.
While each member has continued on individual paths, Soyou’s honest confession proves that the bond between the members — and the group’s legacy — still holds deep meaning.
Fans are now sending love and support to Soyou, reminiscing about the golden SISTAR days and hoping for more reunions in the future.
