Actor Uhm Tae Woong is officially making his return to the spotlight after nearly a decade, and his wife Yoon Hye Jin couldn’t hold back her emotions.

On June 21, Yoon Hye Jin took to social media to share that Uhm Tae Woong’s latest project has been invited to a major film festival — marking his comeback after 9 long years away from the screen.

In a heartfelt post, she wrote, “I’ve quietly watched him endure the hard times… I kept wondering, Will this day ever come?” She added, “There was so much waiting with no answers. I hoped, imagined, and sometimes thought it might never happen. But here we are — over ten years later. It really feels like a miracle.”

Yoon Hye Jin then revealed a touching coincidence: “The GV (Guest Visit) screening is on July 9, which is also my mom’s birthday. Maybe it’s just chance, but it feels like my mom is watching over us.”

She went on to thank everyone who made the moment possible and shared more details about the upcoming project. “The drama I Kill You, which my husband filmed two years ago, has been invited to the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival in movie form. The drama version will also be released on Coupang Play starting July 22.” She expressed deep thanks to fans, saying, “This moment is all thanks to you.”

I Kill You is Uhm Tae Woong’s official return to acting, and it marks director Yoo Ha’s first-ever TV series. Yoo Ha is best known for hit films like A Dirty Carnival and A Frozen Flower. The story follows a former taekwondo star who now works part-time jobs and ends up taking a stand for the granddaughter of a powerful corporate figure involved in a deadly hit-and-run incident. The drama dives into mystery, emotion, and redemption.

Uhm Tae Woong married ballet star Yoon Hye Jin in 2013, and the couple has a daughter together. Though once loved for his strong acting and variety show appearances, his career came to a halt in 2016 after being accused of sexual assault. The accusation was later revealed to be false, but he did receive a 1 million won fine for prostitution, which sparked public backlash and led to his long hiatus.

Now, with I Kill You, Uhm Tae Woong is slowly stepping back into the spotlight — and his family, especially Yoon Hye Jin, is right there beside him.
