On the June 16 episode of Channel A’s The Detectives’ Trade Secrets, emotions ran high as heartbreaking real-life stories unfolded, and guest detective Kang Daniel couldn't hold back his shock.
During one jaw-dropping case, the singer and idol-turned-detective blurted out “Crazy X!” before quickly apologizing with a laugh, showing just how unbelievable the case was.
The episode featured two intense stories. In the “Detectives 24 Hours” segment, a woman asked the team to help find her daughter, whom she gave up for adoption over 40 years ago.
She had been an unwed mother who planned to marry her boyfriend — until he walked away when she got pregnant.
Left to raise her baby alone while living in a friend’s shop, she eventually gave up the child to her ex-boyfriend’s older brother, who couldn’t have children of his own.
But years later, after seeing a girl who looked just like her in the neighborhood, doubts grew. A DNA test later crushed her hopes — the girl wasn’t her daughter. Sadly, the man who adopted her baby had also passed away, leaving the mystery unresolved. The search will continue in next week’s episode.
But it was the “Case Notebook” corner — with Kang Daniel stepping in as a one-day detective — that really got everyone talking.
A man came forward with a shocking discovery: although he had azoospermia (a condition where a man cannot produce sperm), his wife was suddenly pregnant.
Things spiraled from there. While the wife initially claimed she was assaulted, her friend exposed a darker side — revealing the wife had a history of dating several men before marriage and was now spending her lawyer husband’s money to support younger guys.
That wasn’t all. The real twist? The father of the baby was none other than the husband’s best friend — and also his divorce lawyer! This friend had been secretly helping the wife during the divorce case by leaking information, completely betraying the husband’s trust.
Defconn, also part of the show, was furious and asked, “How could you do that with your friend’s wife?” Kang Daniel, visibly shocked, couldn’t help blurting out, “Crazy X!” before quickly covering his mouth and saying, “Oh! I’m sorry,” which made the cast and viewers laugh — even amid the jaw-dropping story.
Eventually, justice was served. The cheating best friend was disciplined for breaking the Attorney-at-Law Act and was fired. The wife also had to pay alimony and got divorced.
Fans praised Kang Daniel for staying real and showing genuine emotion during the twisted case. Many commented online that his shocked reaction was exactly what they felt too.
