BB GirlsMinyoung shared her true feelings about trying to connect with younger idols — and revealed that even her own labelmates have stopped contacting her.

On June 7, BB Girls appeared as guests on SBS PowerFM’s radio show Escape at 2PM Cultwo Show to promote their new remake single Hoping for Love. The group joined the show’s Love Call Center segment alongside creator Lalal and singer Kim Tae Hyun.

During the broadcast, the members opened up about what it was like to remake veteran singer Byun Jin Seop’s famous song Hoping for Love.

They said, “We felt honored that composer Noh Young Shim allowed us to use the song so easily,” and added, “We’re also very grateful that Byun Jin Seop agreed to feature on the track.” The girls also shared, “We thought about our ideal type while writing the lyrics.”

Minyoung then sent a heartfelt message to junior idols in the industry, especially from the 5th generation. She shared that she wants to build friendships with them and previously said in another interview, “I can buy you food and drinks. I even have a car, so I can come pick you up!”

However, Minyoung admitted with a laugh, “No one contacted me. Even the younger artists from my own agency stopped reaching out.”

Despite the bittersweet confession, BB Girls are staying busy. They will be holding a fan meeting on June 8 and have more plans lined up. “We’re preparing for overseas performances and planning to be very active, so please look forward to it,” they told fans excitedly.

Escape at 2PM Cultwo Show airs every day from 2PM to 4PM KST on SBS PowerFM (107.7MHz) and can also be watched on the visual radio YouTube channel ‘Erao’.
