Musical actors Park Jun Hwi and Woo Jin Young have both decided to leave their current musicals after private photos of them leaked online.
On June 5th, the production company Showplay, responsible for Nijinsky and Bear The Musical, announced that Park Jun Hwi would be stepping down from both musicals. Woo Jin Young will also be leaving Bear The Musical.
The controversy began when photos of Park Jun Hwi and Woo Jin Young wearing only underwear were shared online.
The photos were quickly deleted about 10 minutes later, but not before many people saw them.
The leak shocked fans because Park Jun Hwi was known to be engaged to be married. Along with the photos, private chats between the two actors and even a wedding-related contract were shared on social media, increasing the controversy and causing many to react strongly.
Showplay explained the situation simply, saying both actors are leaving the shows due to “personal reasons.”
To fill the roles, Shin Joo Hyup and Jung Hwi will take over Park Jun Hwi’s parts for the performances scheduled on June 8th at 2 PM and June 15th at 6 PM.
However, the shows on June 8th at 6 PM and June 10th at 8 PM have been canceled.
