Actress Park Ha Sun is opening up about an unexpected twist in her career—and how Kang Ho Dong played a surprising role in her success!
On the May 31 episode of JTBC’s Knowing Bros (Ep. 484), Park Ha Sun appeared alongside fellow cast members of Divorce Consideration Camp — Yang Na Rae, Jin Tae Hyun, and Park Min Chul.
While chatting with the Knowing Bros crew, Park Ha Sun caught everyone off guard with her heartfelt thanks to veteran entertainer Kang Ho Dong.
“Kang Ho Dong is the person who helped me get to where I am now,” she said, leaving everyone surprised. Kang Ho Dong humbly responded, “I don’t remember saving your life.”
Park Ha Sun then explained the full story. “Back when we filmed Strong Heart, the recording went on for 8 to 9 hours. I was so tired that I dozed off for a moment."
She added, "But Kang Ho Dong made that moment funny instead of embarrassing. That small scene ended up becoming part of my ‘image,’ and it aired on TV. Later, the High Kick 3 director saw it.”
She continued, “I had actually auditioned for High Kick 2, but I was told I looked too old for Shin Se Kyung’s role. Still, after that Strong Heart moment, the director said, ‘She’s funny. Let’s bring her in for Season 3,’ and that’s how I was cast.”
Park Ha Sun finished her story with a big smile, saying, “Thanks to that opportunity, I was able to buy a house and a car. I’m really thankful.”
Fans were touched by her honesty and praised Kang Ho Dong for always giving junior stars a chance to shine.
Many also applauded Park Ha Sun for her resilience and sense of humor through the ups and downs of her career.
