• Park Bo Gum and his “Good Boy” team might be clumsy, but fans are calling them the cutest heroes ever

Park Bo Gum is making a big return to the small screen — but this time, he's not playing the perfect golden boy. In the latest teaser for JTBC’s new drama Good Boy, he’s swapping gold medals for handcuffs as part of a clumsy but determined team of former athletes-turned-cops.

On May 15, Good Boy dropped its third teaser, giving fans a peek into the story of five Olympic medalists who trade in their sports careers for police badges. Joining Park Bo Gum are Kim So Hyun, Lee Sang Yi, Heo Sung Tae, and Tae Won Seok as part of a quirky special team called the Goodvengers.

Good Boy is a comic action investigation series about these former sports stars who become police officers through a special national recruitment program. They may be awkward at first, but together they fight against crime and corruption using their skills, strength, and heart.

Heo Sung Tae plays team leader Go Man Sik, a former bronze medalist in wrestling. He’s more sweet than strict, using gentle charm to gather his unlikely team. He playfully asks fencing star Kim Jong Hyun (Lee Sang Yi), “Sergeant Kim, what do you like?” and sneaks up on discus thrower Shin Jae Hong (Tae Won Seok) with a laugh, saying, “Guess who I am?”

Go Man Sik even knows how to get the tough ones on board. He promises a “huge gun” to Kim So Hyun’s sharp-shooting character Ji Han Na, and cleverly recruits Park Bo Gum’s character, boxing champ Yoon Dong Joo, by saying, “I heard Han Na is joining.” (Spoiler: Dong Joo might have a little crush.)

Though the team is rough around the edges, their chemistry and teamwork are heartwarming and fun to watch. Each one brings a different energy — Yoon Dong Joo’s passion, Han Na’s coolness, Jong Hyun’s strength, Man Sik’s warmth, and Jae Hong’s bold presence.

The teaser ends with a bang — literally. Just when things seem to be going smoothly, a mysterious figure appears, and the mood shifts, hinting that this lovable team is in for a much more serious challenge.

The production team shared, “This summer, Good Boy will bring you action, comedy, romance, and suspense — all led by these adorable and strong characters who take on evil like pros. Watching them win justice will feel just as good as winning a gold medal.”

Directed by Beyond Evil’s Shim Na Yeon and written by Life on Mars’ Lee Dae Il, Good Boy premieres on May 31 at 10:40 PM KST on JTBC and will also be available worldwide on Amazon Prime Video.
