• Yumi's Cells season 3 confirmed for 2026 and Kim Go Eun says playing Yumi is very special - Here's Why

After 3 long years, Yumi’s Cells is officially returning with Season 3, and fans couldn’t be more excited!

The hit TVING original series will once again star Kim Go Eun as the lovable Yumi, who is now a successful star writer. The new season will follow her journey as she deals with a new romance and reunites with her hilarious and emotional brain cells.

Based on the famous Naver webtoon by Lee Dong Gun, Yumi’s Cells became a huge fan favorite thanks to its creative mix of live action and 3D animation — a first in Korean drama history. The show stood out by bringing Yumi’s brain to life through cute and quirky “cells,” like Love Cell, Rational Cell, Emotional Cell, and more. These cells gave fans a fun and relatable way to watch Yumi go through life, love, and career changes.

Seasons 1 and 2 were major hits, and now with Season 3 set to arrive in early 2026, fans are looking forward to seeing how Yumi’s story continues.

Even more exciting, the original creative team is back! Director Lee Sang Yeob and writers Song Jae Jung and Kim Kyung Ran are returning to lead the new season. And of course, Kim Go Eun will once again bring Yumi to life — showing a more grown-up, emotional, and fun side of the character.

In this season, Yumi’s peaceful life gets shaken up by a surprise romance, and her “cell village” becomes active again. Fans can’t wait to see the return of her beloved animated cells and how they’ll react to the new love twist.

Kim Go Eun shared her excitement by saying:
"I’m honored and happy to continue the story of Yumi, which many viewers have loved. As an actress, it’s very meaningful and special to play the same character for a long time. I hope to show how Yumi has grown through the many turning points in her life in Season 3. Since my journey with Yumi started in 2021, I want to finish it well."

Yumi’s Cells Season 3 will premiere exclusively on TVING in the first half of 2026. Stay tuned.
