SS501’s Kim Hyung Jun recently opened up about old rumors and misunderstandings involving TVXQ and his own group.
On the May 5 broadcast of Channel A’s Close Friends Documentary: 4-Person Table, Kim Junsu invited fellow stars Son Jun Ho, Kim Hyung Jun, and Jeong Dong Won for a heartfelt and honest conversation.
During the show, Kim Hyung Jun shared a moment from the past that sparked misunderstandings. “Back then, TVXQ and SS501 used to hang out together a lot, but Junsu and I never joined them,” he said.

Kim Junsu responded, “I didn’t go because I don’t like drinking,” and laughed when Hyung Jun added, “In my case, I wasn’t even invited.” Junsu then jokingly asked, “Were you being left out?”
Hyung Jun cleared the air and said it wasn’t really bullying. “At that time, I was very shy and sensitive. I had seen the other hyungs before, but never Junsu, so I thought, ‘Maybe he’s avoiding me.’ He seemed cold to me.”
He went on to reveal that he actually wanted to become closer with Junsu. So he volunteered for military service as a conscripted policeman—where Junsu was already serving—hoping to get the chance.
“I finally got to talk to him thanks to a training officer. Even though I was nervous, Junsu was so warm and welcoming… I ended up crying,” Hyung Jun shared, touching everyone with his honesty.
This episode cleared up old misunderstandings and showed the warm bond that formed between the two stars over time.
