Singer and actor Park Yoochun has secured a major victory in a lawsuit filed by his former manager, who accused him of unpaid wages.

According to Newsis on January 7, the first trial ruling, which favored Park Yoochun, became final on November 15, 2024. The lawsuit was filed by his former manager, referred to as "A", but the court ultimately ruled against the plaintiff.

Although A initially appealed the verdict, the appeal was dismissed after they failed to pay the required court fees, solidifying the original ruling.

The legal dispute traces back to Park Yoochun’s time in JYJ and later as he established his one-man agency, Re:Cielo. Park reportedly offered A the role of CEO at Re:Cielo with an annual salary of 100 million KRW.

However, trouble began when A accused Park of breaching their agreement. A claimed Park had signed a dual contract with a Japanese agency and ended their exclusive partnership without warning. As a result, A demanded about 570 million KRW in unpaid wages and filed the lawsuit in 2021.

In October 2024, the Seoul Eastern District Court’s Civil Division 14, led by Chief Judge Park Yeon Joo, dismissed A’s claims, ruling in favor of Park Yoochun. The court rejected the accusations of unpaid wages and dismissed the substitute claim.

This win marks a significant moment for Park Yoochun, who has been navigating controversies in his career while continuing to thrive in Japan.
