Hong Jin Young's fan account has addressed false reports that claimed she lost a friend in the tragic Jeju Air passenger plane crash.

On January 1, Hong Jin Young's fan account took to social media to clarify the situation. The post explained, "Everyone, I am not Hong Jin Young", and stressed that the message about "a friend being on the plane that crashed" was not written by the singer herself.

The fan added, "I am just an ordinary person and a fan of Hong Jin Young. I shared a message because I was heartbroken over the loss of someone I knew. Please, journalists, remove the articles."

The confusion began on December 31 when the fan account posted a story saying, "I just found out that my dentist, whom I saw just a few days ago, was on the plane involved in the crash. They were such a kind and caring person. Rest in peace". The message led to the misunderstanding that Hong Jin Young had lost a friend in the tragic accident.

Now, the fan account has publicly corrected the information, asking everyone to disregard the rumors.

The Jeju Air tragedy occurred on December 29 at Muan International Airport, Jeollanam-do, when a Thai Airways flight, traveling from Bangkok, veered off the runway and crashed into the outer fence.

There were 175 passengers and 6 crew members on board, with only two survivors. Tragically, 179 people lost their lives.

The government declared a national mourning period from December 29 to January 4 to honor the victims.
