BTS's Jimin has achieved another huge milestone in the U.S. with his hit song "Like Crazy."
On August 22, Jimin's "Like Crazy" hit over 2 million units sold in the U.S., earning a Double Platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). This big win came just 518 days after the song’s release.
"Like Crazy" is now the first K-pop solo single to reach this milestone in the past decade. Although it first received RIAA Platinum certification last August, the final Double Platinum status was confirmed only recently due to a delay in the label's application. Fans are hopeful that future certifications will be processed faster.
Released in March 2023, "Like Crazy" was the title track of Jimin’s first solo album, "FACE." The song made history as the first Korean solo artist to top the Billboard Hot 100 and was the only K-pop solo track to hit number one on the Billboard Artist 100 chart, making a big splash in the American music scene.

The album "FACE" also made waves by reaching number 2 on the Billboard 200 chart, the highest rank ever for a K-pop solo artist. It earned the first Gold certification for a Korean album by an Asian solo artist in June.
The global success of "Like Crazy" was highlighted by The New York Times, which listed Jimin’s Billboard Hot 100 achievement as one of "20 Major Events of 2023." Time magazine also featured Jimin’s success in its special "Year in Review" edition.
Continuing his success, Jimin’s second solo album, "MUSE," was released this year. The title track "Who" sold over 500,000 units in the U.S. within just 29 days of release, earning Gold certification from the RIAA and setting a new record for the fastest-selling K-pop solo track.
