Actor Byeon Woo Seok's agency has decided to stop working with security firm A, which was recently involved in a controversy over excessive security measures.
According to a report by OSEN on July 23, Byeon Woo Seok's agency has dropped security firm A after the recent scandal. The issue, known as the 'airport security' controversy, even drew attention from the president of Incheon International Airport Corporation, who spoke about it at a parliamentary session.
The controversy started on July 12 when Byeon Woo Seok was leaving for Hong Kong from Incheon International Airport for a fan meeting. His security team was criticized for their extreme measures, such as controlling parts of the entrance, shining flashlights at other lounge users, and checking airline tickets and passports.
Other passengers complained, and the issue spread online. Airport security can manage gates to ensure celebrity safety but cannot check passengers' IDs or airline tickets without authority.

The head of the security firm apologized for using flashlights and explained that they worked with airport security because many people were trying to enter the lounge without tickets, causing congestion. However, Incheon International Airport Corporation denied any cooperation in checking airline tickets, which fueled the controversy.
The airport corporation is considering filing a complaint against Byeon Woo Seok's security firm. The police are also investigating six security firm employees for possible obstruction of business and coercion.
Lee Hak Jae, the president of Incheon International Airport Corporation, acknowledged the incident at a parliamentary committee meeting and stated that they would work with the police to establish rules for private security firms at the airport and strengthen penalties for violations.
Amid this situation, Byeon Woo Seok's agency has decided to stop working with the involved security firm. However, the agency told OSEN, "It is a delicate matter to comment on right now. Since Byeon Woo Seok has no scheduled departures for the time being, discussions regarding the security firm will be held later."
