  • Lovelyz's Mijoo and Soccer Star Song Bum Geun Call It Quits After 9 Months of Dating—Here’s What Happened

Former Lovelyz member and beloved entertainer Mijoo and soccer player Song Bum Geun have officially ended their relationship after nine months of dating publicly.

On January 20th, MyDaily reported that the couple had recently broken up. A source close to them shared, “Mijoo and Song Bum Geun have decided to part ways."

They added, "They had a wonderful relationship, but the pressure of being in the public eye made things difficult. Despite their breakup, they continue to support each other.”

Mijoo and Song Bum Geun went public with their romance in April 2023, after fans noticed subtle hints through their “Lovestagram” posts—pictures taken at similar travel spots and moments that hinted at their love story.

Mijoo openly showed her affection, even traveling to Yokohama, Japan, to support Song Bum Geun during his time with J-League team Shonan Bellmare. Despite their efforts to keep the relationship strong while being long-distance, the couple eventually decided to go their separate ways.

The breakup came just as fans were hoping for happier news since Song Bum Geun recently returned to Korea, joining K-League’s Jeonbuk Hyundai after leaving Shonan Bellmare. Many thought this move would bring the couple closer, but unfortunately, it wasn’t meant to be.

Mijoo, who debuted with Lovelyz in 2014 and transitioned into a solo career under Antenna in 2023, remains a fan-favorite on variety shows like MBC’s Hangout With Yoo. She continues to charm fans with her cheerful personality and talent.

Song Bum Geun, a goalkeeper who debuted with Jeonbuk Hyundai in 2018, is focusing on his return to the team as he gears up for the new season.

Fans are expressing their support for both Mijoo and Song Bum Geun as they move forward, wishing them happiness in their individual journeys.
