BTS’s V drew attention in Chile after using local memes, traditional cheers, and Spanish phrases during the group’s *ARIRANG* concerts in Santiago.
BTS performed at Chile’s National Stadium on October 14, 16, and 17 as part of their ongoing *ARIRANG* world tour.
During the first concert, V surprised fans by referencing the popular Chilean meme *“Chile, el mejor país de Chile,”* which translates roughly to *“Chile, the best country in Chile.”*
The phrase became widely known after a football fan used it during a television interview while celebrating a Chile national team victory in 2015.
V continued interacting with local fans during the second show by shouting *“TIKI TIKI TII,”* a familiar chant associated with traditional Chilean celebrations.
Chilean TV news program *Chilevisión Noticias* highlighted the moment, reporting that V had once again excited the crowd by using Spanish for a second consecutive day.
At the final Santiago concert, V joined another well-known national cheer by shouting, *“CHI CHI CHI, LE LE LE, VIVA CHILE.”*
His efforts also received coverage from several Chilean outlets, including national broadcaster *24 Horas*, which highlighted both his use of local expressions and his comment that he had tried empanadas.
Other local media outlets also featured V’s use of the Chilean meme as one of the memorable moments from BTS’s concerts.
By adapting his stage comments to local culture and joining familiar Chilean cheers, V created a playful connection with fans during BTS’s three-night run in Santiago.
