Actors Jang Ki Yong and Oh Jung Se are officially teaming up for MBC's upcoming Friday and Saturday drama Law of Lines, which is scheduled to premiere in the first half of 2027.
On October 19, MBC confirmed the two actors as the male leads of the new series, raising anticipation for their on-screen chemistry in an office political noir centered on power struggles, workplace alliances, and ambition.
Law of Lines follows Tak Do Il, an ordinary bank employee with no powerful connections or influential background. Despite starting with little support, he uses his intelligence and understanding of office politics to challenge the bank's established power structure.
The drama will explore how employees navigate workplace rivalries, hidden alliances, and difficult decisions while competing for influence within a major financial institution.
Jang Ki Yong will play Tak Do Il, a talented bank employee who has mastered the art of office politics.
Although he graduated from a regional university and lacks influential connections, Tak Do Il knows how to turn difficult situations in his favor. His quick thinking and strategic decisions allow him to challenge the people holding power at the bank.
Jang Ki Yong has previously appeared in several popular dramas, including Come and Hug Me, Search: WWW, Now, We Are Breaking Up, and The Atypical Family. He also showcased his romantic and comedic acting in Dynamite Kiss.
Meanwhile, Oh Jung Se will take on the role of Chun Kyung Ho, the vice president of Nara Bank's sales division.
Chun Kyung Ho is a successful executive who built his career despite having only a high school education. He is now considered a leading candidate to become the bank's next president.
As an experienced figure in the company's leadership, Chun Kyung Ho finds himself involved in a complicated battle of strategy and influence with Tak Do Il.
Their relationship is expected to become a central part of the drama, with both characters using their intelligence and political skills to navigate the bank's competitive environment.
Oh Jung Se is known for his performances in When the Camellia Blooms, Hot Stove League, It's Okay to Not Be Okay, Revenant, and the film Extreme Job.
Beyond its lead actors, Law of Lines has also attracted attention for its production team.
The drama will be directed by Kim Sung Yong, who previously worked on The Veil and My Dearest.
It will also involve creator Kang Eun Kyung, known for the Dr. Romantic series and The World of the Married, while Eun Ki Baek will serve as the screenwriter.
With Jang Ki Yong and Oh Jung Se leading the cast, Law of Lines aims to offer a different kind of workplace drama by combining office politics, psychological tension, and strategic battles for power.
MBC's Law of Lines is scheduled to air in the first half of 2027, with its exact premiere date yet to be announced.
