BTS has set a new Spotify record by becoming the first group in the world to surpass 10 billion streams within a single calendar year.

As of October 16, BTS had accumulated more than 10 billion Spotify streams in 2026. While major solo artists such as Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, and Bad Bunny have previously crossed the same yearly mark, BTS is reportedly the first group to achieve it.

The milestone also represents a sharp increase from the group’s 2025 total of around 4.5 billion streams, marking growth of approximately 122%.

A major contributor to the record was BTS’s fifth full-length album, *ARIRANG*, released on March 20. The album had surpassed 5 billion Spotify streams as of October 14, accounting for roughly half of the group’s total streams this year.

BTS also saw a major jump in daily listening when *ARIRANG* was released. Their daily Spotify streams reportedly rose from around 23 million before the album’s release to about 130 million on March 20.

All 14 songs from *ARIRANG* occupied the top 14 positions on Spotify’s *Daily Top Songs Global* chart on release day. The title track, *SWIM*, recorded around 14 million streams on its first day, the highest single-day total reported for a song released in 2026.

*ARIRANG* has also become the most-streamed album released in 2026 on Spotify so far, with more than 5 billion streams. It currently holds a lead of around 2 billion streams over Olivia Rodrigo’s *you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love*, according to the report.

BTS’s latest Spotify achievement adds another major streaming record to the group’s 2026 comeback, with *ARIRANG* playing a central role in pushing their annual total past the 10 billion mark.
