Koo Kyo Hwan and Han Ji Min are joining forces for the first time on screen as a married couple in the upcoming disaster comedy film Typhoon.
The film has confirmed its main cast and officially began filming in October.
Typhoon follows Jin Mo, played by Koo Kyo Hwan, and Jae Yi, played by Han Ji Min, a married couple who have decided to separate. Their plans take an unexpected turn when they encounter a massive typhoon while attending a relative’s wedding in their hometown.
Koo Kyo Hwan will play Jin Mo, an ordinary office worker who once appeared to have a promising career after graduating from a prestigious university and joining a major company, but has remained stuck at the assistant manager level.
The role will show a more everyday side of Koo Kyo Hwan as a husband and father caught in both a marriage crisis and a sudden disaster.
Han Ji Min plays his wife Jae Yi, a former publishing industry employee who left her job after struggling to balance work and childcare. She later begins dreaming of becoming a YouTube creator.
During the disaster, Jae Yi uses practical tips and knowledge from lifestyle content to help the group find ways out of dangerous situations.
The film marks the first pairing of Koo Kyo Hwan and Han Ji Min, with their frustrated married-couple dynamic expected to drive much of the comedy.
Oh Jung Se will appear as Sang Hyuk, Jin Mo’s longtime friend and a rescue worker who tries to help the couple but ends up trapped with them. Han Sun Hwa joins as Rose, the owner of a guesthouse who refuses to offer discounts even during the typhoon while still dreaming of a dramatic romance.
Kim Eung Soo, Oh Min Ae, Kim Yo Han, and Choi Ji Soo complete the main ensemble.
Typhoon is written and directed by Lee Jung Ho, known for *The Beast* and *Broken*.
The disaster comedy is currently scheduled for release in 2027.
