BTS’s V is drawing attention for helping traditional jade rings gain new popularity as a fashion item among younger shoppers.

The trend, now being referred to as “Jade Core,” began gaining attention after V wore a jade ring during *BTS Comeback Live: ARIRANG* at Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul on March 21.

Rather than wearing the jade ring by itself, V layered it with rings made from different materials, giving the traditional accessory a more modern look.

The styling quickly spread across social media, and jade rings that were once commonly associated with older generations began attracting younger consumers.

The trend was recently featured on Park Myung Soo’s YouTube show *Halmyungsoo*, where the cast visited Namdaemun Market and looked for jade accessories similar to those worn by V.

One segment introduced the item with the playful line, *“Who said it was a grandmother’s ring? V wears this K-accessory too.”*

Sellers at Namdaemun Market said younger customers have increasingly been buying several jade rings and wearing them together in layered styles.

They also claimed that interest is not limited to Korea, with shoppers from countries including the United States, the United Kingdom, and France also looking for jade accessories.

A company that supplied V’s jade ring said visits and orders from BTS fans increased after the performance and that the design he wore saw a sharp rise in sales.

While the exact scale of V’s influence on the overall jade jewelry market has not been independently confirmed, his styling has helped bring renewed attention to the traditional accessory as a modern fashion piece.
