Ma Dong Seok is adding another major international franchise to his filmography with a special appearance in Street Fighter.
The actor will voice Gouken, the martial arts master of Ryu and Ken Masters, in the upcoming action film directed by Kitao Sakurai.
Gouken is an important figure in the history of both characters, having trained Ryu and Ken from a young age as they grew up together like brothers.
Ma Dong Seok’s character will appear in animated scenes exploring their past, helping provide more background on the long relationship between the two fighters.
The role gives Ma Dong Seok another credit in a globally recognized entertainment franchise, following his continued expansion into international projects.
In Street Fighter, Andrew Koji plays Ryu while Noah Centineo stars as Ken Masters. The story follows the longtime rivals as they are drawn back into combat and become caught up in a dangerous battle connected to a larger conspiracy.
Street Fighter is scheduled to open in theaters on October 14.
