Actor Shim Hyung Tak’s young son Haru has taken on a new role in Japan as his growing popularity continues to attract attention.

On October 10, Shim Hyung Tak’s wife Hirai Saya revealed that her husband and their son had been officially appointed as International Exchange Promotion Ambassadors for Yamanashi Prefecture, her hometown in Japan.

Saya shared the news through her personal social media account, writing, *“A few days ago, Mr. Shim and Haru were invited to my hometown, Yamanashi Prefecture in Japan, and were appointed as Yamanashi International Exchange Promotion Ambassadors.”*

She congratulated the two and said the family hopes to help strengthen connections between Korea and Yamanashi.

Saya added, *“From now on, we will help serve as a bridge for exchanges between Yamanashi and Korea while introducing the beauty of Yamanashi.”*

Photos from the appointment ceremony showed Shim Hyung Tak attending the event with Haru.

Saya also shared a lighthearted detail from the ceremony, explaining that Haru had only recently woken up but was warmly welcomed by everyone present.

She wrote, *“Haru had just woken up, but thanks to everyone welcoming us so warmly, we were able to finish the event successfully. Thank you.”*

Haru has steadily attracted public attention through his appearances with his parents on KBS2’s *The Return of Superman*. He was also previously selected as an advertising model before turning one year old, with reports saying his modeling activities generated significant earnings.

Shim Hyung Tak married Japanese national Hirai Saya in 2023, and the couple later welcomed Haru.

With his television appearances and advertising activities already drawing interest, Haru has now added an official promotional role in Japan alongside his father, representing Yamanashi Prefecture and its cultural exchange with Korea.
