aespa’s Karina has found a new hobby after trying surfing during a visit to Malibu, California.
On October 10, Karina shared several photos from the beach along with the message, *“I tried surfing.”*
She added, *“And in Malibu, of all places,”* while documenting her first-hand experience with the waves.
Karina was initially given a bodyboard and jokingly commented on the situation before later switching equipment for the actual surfing session.
While waiting for a smaller wave, she playfully referenced aespa’s music, writing, *“Big wave, big wave, don’t avoid it.”*
After managing to ride a wave, Karina laughed about how she fell into the water afterward and chose not to share part of the moment.
She then confirmed that the experience had left a strong impression on her, writing, *“I have a new hobby now.”*
Karina also praised the scenery at Malibu, especially the sunlight reflecting across the ocean.
She wrote, *“The shimmering light on the water is really beautiful.”*
The surfing outing gave fans a relaxed look at Karina’s time away from the stage as she tried something new during her overseas schedule.
Karina is currently meeting fans around the world with aespa through the group’s *2026-27 aespa LIVE TOUR – SYNK : COMPLæXITY*, which is scheduled to continue through February next year.
