T.O.P’s agency has issued an official apology after CHOIDOT, a longtime fansite that supported the former BIGBANG member for 20 years, announced that it was ending operations.
On October 10, T.O.P’s agency TOPSPOT PICTURES released a statement addressing concerns raised by fans over communication and the handling of the artist’s activities.
The agency said, *“We are taking the opinions recently shared by fans very seriously.”*
It continued, *“We deeply apologize that updates about the artist’s activities and communication did not sufficiently reach the fans who have waited for him, and that this caused disappointment and frustration.”*
The response came one day after CHOIDOT announced that it would close after operating from August 24, 2006, until October 9, 2026.
In its closing statement, the fansite expressed frustration over what it described as limited communication and promotion surrounding T.O.P’s recent activities. The organizers also said they felt that some responsibilities related to fan support and promotion had increasingly depended on voluntary efforts from fans.
The issue gained further attention following the cancellation of a fan-organized exhibition inspired by T.O.P’s first full-length solo album, *ANOTHER DIMENSION*.
According to CHOIDOT, the exhibition was originally planned for around 300 attendees, but registrations reportedly reached only about 25% of that target before additional cancellations reduced the number further. The organizers said the event was ultimately canceled because of low participation and operating costs.
The fansite also pushed back against speculation that the cancellation was connected to reports about T.O.P’s personal life, stating that the decision was instead related to participation levels and broader concerns about fan communication.
Following the criticism, TOPSPOT PICTURES said it plans to review how it communicates with fans.
The agency stated, *“Going forward, we will listen more closely to the opinions you send us and actively reflect them in the artist’s activities and overall management.”*
It added, *“We will also review the way we communicate with fans and provide an update through official channels once improvement measures have been prepared.”*
The agency concluded by thanking fans for their longtime support and promising to work toward better communication.
The statement marks the first official response from T.O.P’s side following CHOIDOT’s decision to end its 20-year run, with the agency acknowledging fans’ disappointment and promising changes in how future activities are communicated.
