Kim Go Eun has revealed that she originally did not want "Yumi’s Cells" to continue with a third season, despite eventually feeling that the new chapter completed the series for her.

During the Actors House event at the 31st Busan International Film Festival on October 8, Kim Go Eun looked back on her five-year journey with the *Yumi’s Cells* team.

The actress described the series as an important project that opened a new chapter in her career in her 30s. However, she admitted that she never expected the story to continue all the way to Season 3.

Kim Go Eun explained that she initially thought the series should end after the positive response to Season 2.

She said, *“I thought that since Season 2 received a good response, maybe it would be right to stop there. I was worried that if we made Season 3, people might say, ‘They shouldn’t have made it,’ and that would have been upsetting.”*

Her opinion changed after completing filming.

Kim Go Eun shared, *“After we finished everything, I felt like it had finally become complete. Physically, I was very exhausted, but I really thought, ‘I’m glad we did it.’”*

She also credited her long relationship with the production team for making the experience meaningful. After working with the director for around five years, Kim Go Eun said they had reached a point where they could understand each other simply through eye contact.

She added that filming Yumi’s Cells 3 for about three months unexpectedly became a healing experience for her, partly because of the strong relationships she had built with the team over the years.

Although Kim Go Eun once worried that another season could be unnecessary, finishing Yumi’s Cells 3 ultimately left her feeling that Yumi’s journey had become more complete.
