BTS’s V is drawing attention in Peru after showing interest in the country’s food, culture, and landmarks ahead of the group’s concerts in Lima.

BTS is scheduled to perform at Estadio San Marcos on October 7, 9, and 10 as part of their *ARIRANG* world tour.

Ahead of the shows, several Peruvian media outlets and official government accounts highlighted V’s interactions with local culture.

Peruvian newspaper El Comercio brought attention to V’s long-standing interest in Machu Picchu. The BTS member previously expressed his desire to visit the famous Inca site, including during a preview for the group’s 2016 reality series *Bon Voyage Season 1*, when he said he wanted to walk up to Machu Picchu.

Local broadcaster Latina Television also noted that V appeared familiar with Peruvian slang, while news agency Andina reported on his Spanish-language messages mentioning ceviche and sweet potato.

V also shared content related to traditional Peruvian food and desserts, including ceviche and flan, which drew further attention from local outlets such as RPP.

Several official Peruvian accounts, including government agencies RENIEC and MIDAGRI, also highlighted V’s interest in the country.

Peru’s official tourism platform has meanwhile pointed to BTS’s concerts as an opportunity to introduce more international visitors to the country’s food, culture, and natural attractions.

V has often shown interest in the cultures of countries BTS visits, and his recent activity in Peru has once again connected the group’s tour with local traditions beyond the concert stage.
