Seo Kang Joon and Ahn Eun Jin's romance drama A Love Other Than Yours is showing a noticeable gap between traditional TV ratings and streaming interest.
According to Coupang Play on October 7, viewing volume for the drama increased by 195% compared with the previous week, based on viewing data from October 3 to 5.
The rise comes despite the series remaining in the 2% range for its television ratings on KBS 2TV.
According to Nielsen Korea's nationwide figures, A Love Other Than Yours has stayed between 2.1% and 2.8% through its first six episodes. Its highest rating so far was 2.8% for episode 2, while episode 5 recorded its lowest at 2.1%.
However, the drama appears to be attracting stronger attention through Coupang Play and social media.
Coupang Play said videos related to the series have accumulated more than 8 million views across social platforms, with its most popular clip reaching around 3 million views.
The drama initially drew attention for pairing Seo Kang Joon and Ahn Eun Jin as its leads. Some online viewers had previously expressed mixed opinions about their on-screen pairing, but streaming figures suggest interest in the series has continued to grow as more episodes have been released.
A Love Other Than Yours follows a couple who have been together for 10 years as familiar feelings begin to change and new people enter their lives. The series focuses on relationships and the emotions that can develop in long-term romances without relying on a conventional fantasy setup.
While its linear television ratings remain around 2%, the reported 195% increase in viewing volume shows that the drama is finding a different level of momentum on streaming, highlighting how online viewing can tell a different story from traditional TV ratings alone.
