Disney+ series Made in Korea is already looking beyond its second season, with director Woo Min Ho confirming that season 3 is being developed and will move the story into the early 1990s.

Woo Min Ho shared the update during an outdoor stage event for Made in Korea season 2 at the 31st Busan International Film Festival, where he appeared alongside Hyun Bin, Jung Woo Sung, and Woo Do Hwan.

Speaking about the upcoming second season, the director said the production team worked to make the new chapter bigger in scale.

“We worked very intensely with the actors and staff to make it on a larger scale,” he said. However, after completing filming, he felt there was still more of the story to explore.

“After finishing everything, I still felt a little disappointed, so I keep looking toward season 3.”

Woo Min Ho later confirmed that the next chapter would move forward in time.

“Season 3 will be set in the early 1990s,” he revealed. “I cannot tell you exactly what events it will cover yet, but I think we will be able to further expand the relationships between the characters and the changes of the era that continued through seasons 1 and 2.”

The director also explained that working on a series gave him an opportunity he did not usually have with films. While movies are largely completed before audiences see them, he said a series allows creators to observe viewers' reactions while developing the next part of the story.

“I found that very interesting, so I am planning to do season 3 as well,” he said.

Hyun Bin, who has spent several years portraying Baek Ki Tae, also expressed his attachment to the project. Filming for Made in Korea began in July 2024 and concluded in March 2026.

“For an actor, being able to study and play an attractive character for a long time is a great joy,” Hyun Bin said. “The time I spent studying and playing Baek Ki Tae over those years felt like a dream. I still have not completely let go of him.”

Jung Woo Sung said season 2 builds on the relationships established in the first season, while Woo Do Hwan, who newly joined the series, said he felt both pressure and excitement entering the project.

Without revealing major story details, Woo Min Ho said season 2 will feature deeper character development and more complicated relationships.

With season 2 completed and plans for season 3 already taking shape, Made in Korea is set to expand its story into a new political and social era as the timeline moves into the early 1990s.
