SEVENTEEN’s Jeonghan and Joshua have opened up about an unexpected misunderstanding they faced while preparing for their new unit, despite being close friends for around a decade.

The two members appeared together on the YouTube talk show Salon Drip on October 6, where they discussed how their unit came together and admitted that the process was not as smooth as fans might expect.

According to Jeonghan and Joshua, the problem started because neither of them clearly said how much they wanted to form the unit.

Jeonghan explained that Joshua did not seem to directly express whether he truly wanted to work together as a unit. At the same time, Joshua felt Jeonghan was acting in a similar way.

Because neither member wanted to make the first clear move, both reportedly began wondering whether the other was simply testing his reaction before making a decision.

Despite their long friendship, the misunderstanding continued because they were each waiting for the other person to speak honestly first.

The situation eventually changed when Jeonghan and Joshua had a direct conversation and realized that they actually wanted the same thing. Once they openly discussed their feelings, the misunderstanding was resolved.

Their story drew attention because it showed that even after spending many years together as SEVENTEEN members and close friends, communicating about a major new career decision could still feel complicated.

The two are now moving forward together as SEVENTEEN’s newest unit, turning what began as an awkward misunderstanding into a new chapter in their longtime friendship and musical partnership.
