BLACKPINK has reached another major YouTube milestone as their debut music video "BOOMBAYAH" officially surpassed **1.9 billion views**.
The music video crossed the milestone on October 4, nearly a decade after it was first released on August 8, 2016.
With the achievement, *BOOMBAYAH* becomes the **first debut music video by a K-pop group to surpass 1.9 billion YouTube views**, extending a record the song has continued to build over the years.
*BOOMBAYAH* was released as part of BLACKPINK’s debut single album *SQUARE ONE* alongside *WHISTLE*. The two songs officially introduced Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa as BLACKPINK in 2016.
The latest milestone also gives BLACKPINK another group record. After *DDU-DU DDU-DU* and *Kill This Love* previously surpassed 1.9 billion views, *BOOMBAYAH* becomes the group’s third music video to reach the figure.
This makes BLACKPINK the **first K-pop artist to have three music videos with more than 1.9 billion views each**.
*BOOMBAYAH* has repeatedly set milestones among K-pop debut music videos. It previously became the first in the category to reach 300 million views and continued setting new records as it passed 600 million, 800 million, 1 billion, and several higher milestones.
Nearly 10 years after BLACKPINK’s debut, *BOOMBAYAH* continues to attract viewers worldwide and extend its position as one of the most-watched K-pop debut music videos on YouTube.
